I know that EBC makes the upgraded rotors and such (which are already on the bike) but I remember someone adding a Beringer multi piston caliper to their bike a while back. Just can't find any info on the WWW about one that fits our bikes or a seller.
I know Newbonneville.com sells a real nice Brembo kit but I didn't want to spend a grand on brakes if I didn't have to.
So... who knows where I can get the Beringer and if its a direct bolt on?

Stock caliper/rotor for me. I'm all into going fast with no real good way to stop myself

I rode my chopper for years with a useless front brake and just a stock 66 Triumph rear brake so I considered stopping optional. Rode that thing hard and fast too. Stock brakes work fine for me on my SM.

Id kinda like to be able to stop the bike a little better now that there all that extra power.
The EBC stuff was a fine upgrade over OEM but a good multi pot caliper would be the bees knees.

Busted my leg on my ol' 59 Tiger due to not having a functional front brake.

And yet I was able to lock up my front brake during a near miss with a deer one time... just wondering, how does it get any better unless there's ABS on board.

|
More pistons means more clamping with less force. Better braking in less distance.
Always a possibility of locking it up if you grab too much brake no matter what.

On my 07SM (dual front disks) the limiting factor in braking is traction available at the front tire. The OEM front brakes alone function great. IMO, having dual disks on a BA would be the way to go. That said, I understand why BA folks might not agree.

I have a functional brake b ut the long springer negates it's effectiveness the way it lifts the front end.

Z, I think you're thinkin' of an old thread of about 3 or 4 years back where Bengt [piper] in Sweden posted some pics of the 6-pot Beringer brake caliper that Bengt received from his brother as a gift....or was it Johann [Gooseman] over there???...now I'm not sure, BUT it WAS one of those guys anyway.
(...it's a b*tch gettin' old and forgetful, ya know)  
However, now that Carlos says he can get ya one, I guess this info is now pretty much moot, huh.

Your right... I do remember something about the gift part.
I had not seen the Beringer on the TPUSA website last night when I was thinking about this.
Ive emailed Carlos for more info.

You are correct Sirs. Well, almost any way. The caliper I got from my brother was (is) a Harrison 6-pot one. The pic is from when I mounted it and it's really, really great. I don't know if they sell Harrison in the states, but if they do, have a look at these puppies. They're still as good as when I got them.

(...sorry, couldn't resist that whole "Harrison/My Sweet Lord" thing there! ...so, how the heck have ya been, anyway?...hardly ever see ya around here anymore, ol' buddy!)
