That was pretty funny, Stephen!

Back to you Steven (not to be confused with Stephen)... your bike is classically beautiful. That's the only way I can describe it. And the pictures are magnificent. You have a good eye in more ways than one!!

Beautiful. Nice photography too. What options did you get on that Corbin seat, other than "no studs". It looks really nice while the one they have on their site looks like it's made of plastic.

Re: Steven's '03 America - Progress to Date

Sledder23,

The Corbin is a Classic Solo from them purchased about 6 or so years ago. It was purchased with no studs and what they called "Freddy" stitching. You can see the stitching a little in the photos...I think Freddy was in reference to Freddy Krueger (Nightmare on Elm)....the stitching looks deco to me, but I see where they get the reference.

The photo in this post show a little more of the detail.

Hope that answers the question. I can't speak for how the seat looks on their site...I have continued to be very happy with my Corbin.

Steven

Steven, your lic. plate/Foad tail light adaptation on a bobbed fender is the best I have seen to date, I ready to trash my '52 Vincent light and plagiarize the hell out of you.

Re: Steven's '03 America - Progress to Date

Thanks Ryk. I am very pleased with how it all came together. I really wanted to keep the symetry intact so I changed a side-mount for the tail light to being this fender mount. I was also very nervous about the bob...I have seen a lot of attempts on this site many are good, many are not my taste. I am completely satisfied with the end result.

Again, thanks for the comments.

Re: Steven's '03 America - Progress to Date

Thank you FriarJohn....I continue to be a huge fan of this site....the information and ideas that have come from reading posts in these forums have absolutely helped me in the process of refining my vision for my bike. I really do not believe I could have done half of the mods on this bike without the help of the site and especially other forum members.

Cheers,
Steven

Gotta say, your "vision" seems about 20/20 to me, Steven!

(...actually, I take that back...after studying the pics of your classy custom BA yet again, I'd say your "vision" might be as good as, say, 20/10!!!)

Great photography and impressive mc (gotta luv the see thru look).
I don't see any indicators/blinkers??
From the shot from behind it looks like the left muffler sits out wider than the right, maybe just the angle of the photo.

Re: Steven's '03 America - Progress to Date

Nothing other than stock mounts for the exhaust (which are Sceptres), so it must be angle....guess I'll need to go take a closer look.

Correct on no blinkers/indicators. The motor laws in the State of Texas do not require electronic signals. The rider's hands are valid forms of turn indicators. This bike has repeatedly passed the state's safety inspection...I will say that the technician has always looked up the exhaust with a flashlight to make sure that there is some form of baffle...The Sceptres are quite loud, but again, this bike continues to pass the annual safety inspection.

Re: Steven's '03 America - Progress to Date

You definitely have a gorgeous bike Steven!

And I've gotta ask, what handle bars are those?

I've been looking for some new bars and was wanting to do drag bars but with a little bit of rise and pull back and then I saw yours. I've been scouring the internet trying to find them and have found some similar but I'm not quite sure if they're the same.

Also, how do they feel as far as riding position is concerned?

Re: Steven's '03 America - Progress to Date

QuantumSchema,

Thanks for the comment.

The bars are Norman Hyde M Bars. I've had them a couple of years now and I really like the ride...not for everyone, but I like them. They were also an easy swap...a little re-routing of e cables and everything works great. I also ran the wiring internal to the bars to clean things up a bit.

Cheers,
Steven

Re: Steven's '03 America - Progress to Date

Thanks for the notes Steven!

Since you went through the bar swap already and probably did what I did with going through all the bars, did you give any though to the Biltwell Tracker bars?

Right now I've kind of narrowed it down to the M bars and the Trackers. I'm curious what your thoughts were if you went down this road.

Also, with the M bars, did you get plugged or un-plugged?

Thanks!
Louis

Re: Steven's '03 America - Progress to Date

I just checked...the M Bars are the ones with Plugs, but I don't remember a choice...Not sure that it would matter in my application.

For me, I liked the way the M Bars looked and went that path...I had been thinking about different set ups for this bike and considered the extremes, including Ape Hangers. In the end, I went with the M Bars because of the overall vision that I had for the bike and the more aggressive stance. I have not been disappointed at all in the set up.

Hope this helps a bit,
Steven
