Yeah, I don't think it looks bad at all. I know how it is though, I'm always my own worst critic.

ya i am sure they will come off with a heat gun but not sure if they would go back on with the same glue on the back of them, thats the issue, i know they are not like way out to lunch just wish they were a bit more center is all, ahh i will live with them and let them grow on me, they add another texture to the bike.

Yeah, you are right, heat em up and the glue could break down so they may not stick as well second time around.
They don't look bad at all where they are.

All that stuff is subjective. You did it right if you like it. They seem fine to me from the pic.

They look fine. At least it wasn't like trying to stick them on the new tank with no indentions.

If you decide you have to remove them and reposition them you could use automotive 2 sided tape to reattach them. It is used to attach trim on cars.

If you take them off...go to the auto parts store...they have all kinds of trim glue to put them back on...just clean off the old glue

well i heated it up a bit and peeled it back, still very tacky and heating it up allows the glue to come up with it i notices, centered it and stuck it back down, heated it up some again and pushed like crazy, seems to be holding ok, so i am happy both where they should be now.
