This means when a cager tailgates, we get the ticket. These rules are moronic even by government standards.

I went to Granger just yesterday to pick up a roll of reflective tape. I ride at night to go to work and in winter, it's dark both ways, coming and going. Thought I'd brighten things up a bit. Get this, a roll of tape 2 inches wide and 5 yards long, $38.00. Red or white or red and white striped. I thought that was just a little bit too high, so now does anybody have a line on some tape?

Some of the auto parts chains sell red & white conspicuity tape in strips. None of the good / bright stuff is cheap.

The DOT C2 or SOLAS spec will give you the brightest tape. The 3M brand seems to be the brightest.

If you're only looking for a piece or three, I can send you that for free.

I wear a flat black, 10 dollar lid I got at a rally. Been pulled over a few times with it on and rode past countless cops over the years. Never had any problems.
