I got a Spirit online magazine from triumph the other day. It had a nice article about the trophy and also, a profile of a late 90's thunderbird triple. http://triumphmotorcycles.ceros.com/spirit04/usa/page/10
Nice to see an older model getting some love and that's a really nice looking bike - I've always liked the sort of reto looking tank with the modern triple engine and the seat treatment is the icing on the cake - sort of ala norton fastback.
As an aside, the page has lttle blurbs like "The worst thing I've Seen on a ride" - that turns out to be a friend hitting a bear.

I saw that I was thinking hard of getting one of them before I got my speedy. On a different note there was one for sale at the local HD dealer for 3200 with less then 10,000 miles. I went and drooled over it. I wish I had the extra just so I could have it for fun.

I'm facebook "friends" with that guy, Scott. He's a real triumph nut! I think we met over on Triumphrat a while back... Always has cool old bike pics. Nice article!

I have heard a similar era Speed Triple cam and ignitor is a straight away swap in, on these Birds. For those who fast is never fast enough.

I believe the sixth speed gear is also an option for the more advance mechanic.
My younger brother had a Sport for three months, scared the sh-t out of him , traded it in for my 03 America, he got a Road King.
