...that Freedom, ReneLouis and I got speeding tickets in BC, near Summit Lake, south of Nakusp? It was Friday, the day before the accident: 118kph in a 90kph zone. The fine was $138CAN, minus the "early payment discount" of $25 and the exchange rate it should come out to an even $100USD. You almost never see cops up there but there was a huge music festival in Nakusp that weekend, and the RCMP was out in droves.
What a CF of a vacation. It could've been worse, though. He didn't cite me and Freedom for not having our registrations with us, he didn't cite Rene for his very loud, completely drilled out stock pipes, and he could've hit us with a bigger fine of $200, instead of the minimum. Of course, he also could've let us off with a warning, too...

I forgot about that...
You guys didnt deserve those tickets...they should have been after that group of hoodlums led by the crazed Frenchman and the toking Canuck that were overtaking caravans on double solid yellows easily DOUBLING the speedlimit at any given moment...
certainly not you guys!

You got off easy!! Them RCMP love picking on you foreigners. Of course had I been there what with all my wit and charm you woulda got away with just a warning. Sigh... I can't be in all places at once.

The only bright side there was that the insurance office we happened into to pay the fines was staffed by four lovely ladies. We invited them to the New Grand for an after-banquet libation but we were all at the hospital!

So the real take away lesson for everyone else is when you get pinched, ONLY THE FIRST GUY STOPS. EVERYONE ELSE KEEP GOING (albeit at the speed limit for sure). John and I were stupid enough to pull over after Rene, in the lead, was stopped. The RCMP just gathered us up for the trifecta. Also, try not to ride in a strict staggered formation. It's a lot harder to convince the cop that you're not together.

The fact that we've been riding like absolute friggin maniacs through SE BC for years doesn't make it easier to stomach the fine...

There abouts. We had probably slowed from 75-80 before he clocked us. In Montana, two-lane highway speed limits are 70mph. The mountie even said it was set low for winter driving. I would add it's set low for revenue generation, too.
