Wow are these pipes LOUD! Like a 57 Chevy with cherry bombs on steroids! Soren, how much steel wool did you put in each pipe? I will be tarred & feathered with something in them! Thanks...Hobbs

Pics would be cool. I always wondered how some long fishtails would look.

I hope Soren doesn't mind... here's a pic of his bike. There's more pics in "Members Rides"(down a few pages)

Loco,
I've seen them on JcWhitney. Just not sure of the quality/sound/looks. Weren't very expensive from what I remember. Maybe $100 per side.

I have a baffle in the end (near the fishtail) then I used four pads of 000 steel wool in each side. They sound much better now.
Did you get the straight fishtail pipes or the muffler style (like mine)? Yeah, definitely get some pics posted when you can.

I got mine from Jireh Cycles. Most of the fishtail pipes out there are only 30" or less long. On our bikes, it is 36" from the headers to the center of the rear wheel. So, it's a little tougher to find the 36" ones. But anyway, at Jireh Cycles, the 36" muffler style fishtails are only $55 each.

Soren, I got the same ones you have and the place where you suggested. Yes, mine have the internal baffle near the end of the fishtale. Yesterday, I put five (5) chorboy stainless steel scrubbing pads in each pipe (from the inlet side), but they are still really loud! I used stainless so no rust and maybe less chance of the steel wool going on fire. Still too loud for me and my other bike is a 1200C with straight pipes and baffels.
