...problem solved, turned out to be a bare wire touching the inside of the light bucket.... I gotta say though, this toggle switch inside the bucket is a pretty poor design, it's impossible NOT to bend and cramp the hot wires when you screw it together, seems like the switch should have been drill out lower in the bucket to avoid that, but what the hell do I know
