hey, just wanted to say, to all the techs in this forum, you guy's are awesome! I knocked two baffles out of my stock mufflers on my 03 america and it sounds incredible. Nice loud, deep throaty sound. love it! It's got some popping in it on deceleration, but i figure once i get my airbox removal kit in, rejet the carbs, and sync the carbs, it'll illiminate most of that.

I am not entirely sure on the science of removing the air box. Has anybody done a Dyno before and after just that mod? I think it looks pretty cool though.

I would have removed mine even if no increase in power I used the open space to mount some other stuff.

the science is simple. The air box is very restictive, removing it allows the engine to breathe freer (is that a word?). intake and exhaust restrictions rob engines of their power. Imaging trying to run a 5K wearing a gas mask.
