OK, I've put about 1K miles on since the re-jet and TPS disconnect and it feels like a whole different bike.Maybe it's just my over active imagination but it seems to get smoother and quicker of the get every time I take it out. Do jets require a break-in period? I swear it gets faster each time a ride...or maybe I'm just getting braver...

Is your top speed now more than 75MPH?

Well, I can tell ya MY top speed so far is 105, although I believe there is still a bit more in the tank....how long should it take for a bike to get to max speed once you open it up? She races to about 85-90, then slowly gains as I stay on it, but, like I said, I haven't got past 105 yet.

acceleration from 80 to 105 is about the same as 55 to 80 for my bike and still pulling to 120. These are indicated numbers on my speedo.

Patrick,I can't see if you have the stabilizing bracket for the carbs.I ran mine without and they kept rocking off and ruining the rubber manifolds (sucking air)I also had a little bit decel popping till I put the Procom CDI on it and it runs like a dream.I have D&D pipes,K&Ns,2nd air inj removed,42 pilots and 152 mains.I got the bracket from bonnevilleamerica.com

"Carbs"? Are you really from OZ?

A perfectly servicable carb brace can be made from a heavy-duty zip-tie:

They perform great and are easy to install and remove.

Some have theorized that the boots will fail with this setup, however in real world use that's a non-issue.

I used zip ties for over a 1 1/2, worked great, never an issue at all. However last time I rejetted I went ahead and spend some BIG BUCK$, got myself a turnbuclke form Lowes, think it was maybe, $5 at the most. Spray it flat black and you'll never notice it.

I'm happy I read this. Disconnected my TPS and there is very little popping. Besides the possibility for new coils, would there ever be a need to reconnect and would this being disconnected exacerbate the effects of an air leak?
