VOSA
Vehicle & Operator Services Agency.
Their's is the name at the top of your MOT certificate.

The new one's are all done on computer (no more £25 for a 'ticket' mate) and if'n you go on-line http://www.motinfo.gov.uk you can check a legit (new style only) MOT certificate.
You can see if it relates to a particular car, date and time of issue etc - you can tell if it's a knock-off or not.

They are also the people you see driving round usually in a Ford people carrier and stopping lorries etc under motorway bridges.

They can impound your vehicle on the spot and, no doubt, give you a number for a good taxi firm to get home .....

if you have kids in the car and like me in spain touched the solid white line and the guardia civil asked me for 100,000pesetas at the time i was in a fiat uno i was told that the car was to be taken from me in the middle of nowhere so i told the kids to get in the police car these nice men will take you home
i will walk you don't let kids walk you wanna shoot me you shoot me
the cops looked at each other and said don't do it again carry on carry on
but they will take your vehicle and won't get you a taxi you walk or call one yourself
thats a democratic spain
to us the gibbos we still see them as faciast as when franco ruled

I've heard that the Spanish police have started taking car names more seriously. They will stop you for more than one person in a Fiat Uno or if you don't have exactly 4 in an Audi Quatro.

actually they are very polite but they are also b.a.s.t.a.r.d.s if they want to be
theres a guardia bike cop who will stop you and say if you have some new bike say a rocket 3 he'll pull ya so he can test it and he'll let you have a go on the heineken his green and white pig bike but they are very far and few
if you have a gib car/bike they usaully want money

A Rocket 3 could probably manage 3 people quite nicely, but I doubt a CB400 could handle 400.
