I also have been lurking around for a while and thought I should register and reply. I ride a 73 Triumph Tiger that I found and got repaired and running about a year ago. I have been looking to get another bike and have been looking for info about the America and this sure seems to be the place.

I to have been lurking for a little bit until I found out how to register. I have a 2005 America I bought new in July installed tall sissy bar, triumph long off roads, 19 tooth sproket, no luggage except for a saddlemen drifter sissybar pack, removed the ai and its been heaven since day one. Now I have almost 1400 miles and try to get out every time the weather breaks above 40. Hopefully I'll see some of you at these triumph rides.

Im a lurking stranger with zero posts... er, 1 post. (I actually registered a year or two ago and posted a couple times. But that was awhile back.)
A little bit about spiffy: I like bikes! Especially cruisers. Mostly owned big cruisers (Yamaha Roadstar & Royalstar) but always had a soft spot for Triumph Bonnevilles (my dad owned a '69 bonnie back the early 70's). So while I still owned the "roadie", bought myself a '79 bonnie to play with. I thought it was the perfect bike for running around town on - which makes up about 99% of my riding - but had a lot of electrical problems and sold it. Next I got a '02 bonnie and sold my big cruiser shortly thereafter. Loved the "new" bonnie but really missed the cruiser style. So I wound up selling the new bonnie and getting another big cruiser (the royalstar). This bike turned out to be rather impractical for me and once again I found myself wanting a smaller more nimble bike. Sold the "royal" and am currently bikeless.
Anyway, I always thought the Triumph America or Speedmaster would be the perfect niche bike for me and my riding style. So, here I am in the market for one. (if only I had come to my senses sooner, eh?)

The forks, tank, fenders, and every other body part are at the paint shop/poweder coater. I've posted pics as thigs get finished. However, nothing has been accomplished lately.
