Bad day today, was polishing my 06 TBA, had the side stand on a block of wood and bars turned to the right to give me more room, then as I was doing my stuff it fell over. busted mirror, busted Dart colour coded flyscreen and busted speedo. ( havent told the boss yet how much all this will cost ). new speedo alone is about £285, dont really want to spend that amount, so was thinking about an acewell digital speedo. anyone put one of thees on? would like to know whats involved in changing over.

I have an Acewell mine was a model 28 something...Installation wasn't too bad, cutting wires as such, but I have an 2006 speedmaster..don't know about the EFI bikes you may not be able to change over...main problem is:
The back light is blue and way to bright at night, makes it hard to see the readout. They make a model with adjustable back light, I would get that one.

In you want a stock unit and cost is the reason you are looking elsewhere try Engeland Moto or Pinwall.

Sorry to hear about your bike, Nigel. I have an Acewell and love it. I mounted it in the console and found it was relatively easy to install. I didn't like the stock speedo but if you don't mind it, Ian is right... there are places you can look for a used one.

As allways, can rely on the good folks here for quick and tidy reply's. I'll check all 3 options. have you got any pics of your acewell Keith?

If you go with Acewell go to the local hardware store and get rare earth magnets, they are stronger than the supplied pick magnet... epoxy to the caliper bolt for the pick up...will post pictures if you want on the rear wheel pick up
