1964 Trophy SR
      #580958 - 12/08/12 10:56 AM

1964 Triumph Trophy SR, one of 478 made that year. $6000. In northeast Alabama just a few miles off I-59, 50 miles from Chattanooga, TN.

Frame and engine matching numbers, confirmed by document from the VMCC in England. Completely disassembled, every nut and bolt, and rebuilt from the crankshaft up. Crank turned, new sludge trap, new big end bearings, new exhaust camshaft, replaced jugs (first overbore), new pistons & rings, recent valve job; less than 250 miles on engine, still not broken in. Starts first or second kick, everytime. Pazon electronic ignition, POD r&r, 3 phase 180w stator, fresh new battery this past summer. Mikuni carburetor keeps tuning rock solid.

New 20T countershaft sprocket and chain, rear sprocket had so little wear it was not replaced. Newer shrouded rear shocks (not shown), 2 other sets included. New Aftermarket spin on oil filter hidden behind downtube. Both gauges restored by Joel Levine. New speedo and tach cables. New peg rubbers, shift rubber, kick start rubber...

Buchanan stainless spokes front and rear, new front rim, Dunlop K-70s with under 500 miles.

Later model TLS front brakes, new stanchion tubes and all new fork internals. Upgraded neck bearings to rollers. New brake shoes fore and aft. New Lucas style tail light from Bellacorse, older also incorrect later model tail light included.

Parcel rack and tank trim strip needs rechroming. Exhaust is old and not perfect. Damper knob pitted, handlebar mounts pitted, handlebars not perfect. Needs new Trophy Sport side cover decal on later model side cover. Incorrect paint at my request by The Vintage Vendor. Later model saddle came with core bike. Later model primary cover to ease strobe timing access.

Every piece that came off the core bike included: points ignition, coils, old stanchions, headlight ears, old stator, etc. Receipts for everything (I think), two shop manuals, manuals on CD, Four Aces Rebuild DVD and a parts book. I don't even want to total the reciepts and see how much it really cost to get back to this condition.

This was totally a labor of love and it hurts that old age is catching up with me and kick starting is no longer my friend. More pictures available upon request; keep in mind I'm a touring roadie (still) and it may be a day or two before I can respond.

I want your bike soooo bad. Coming from you, Ed I KNOW it's the best that best can be. But how can I do it? Searching brain for answers... trying to think outside the box. What an honour it would be to have her moved to my stable.

Meanwhile, I found the following pictures which include your bike(s).

Ed, your Trophy is absolutely georgeous! Heck, if I had the greenbacks I'd snag it up for my stable in a New York minute.

Oy! Full disclosure [Re: birchr]
      #582049 - 12/21/12 10:10 AM

So I was taking some more pictures to answer an inquiry when I found this paint blister:

Bummer, bummer, bummer. Must have come up while I was out and about on tour. The thing is I had the tank pressure tested and two leaks brazed before priming and painting. Now it will need tank lining and a spot repaint at minimum. Crapola!

A price reduction to $5500 or best offer is a fair place to start. I'm bummed to say the least...
