TWO Factory Triumph Flat Track Teams
      #587872 - 03/08/13 02:22 PM

FYI for those how care, a few days ago it was announced that the AMA Grand National Championship Series will have two factory backed Triumph race bikes in the Expert Twins class. Last year was the first season for national #91, Mikey Martin, to pilot Bill Gately's Bonneville Performance Triumph. Now, national #10, Johnny Lewis, will join the series as the pilot of the Castrol Triumph. I am wait for more info from Bill, but I believe he is in charge of this new team, as well as his own.

On a side note, I have had the pleasure of crewing for Bill at the Knoxville, Iowa race in 2011 and 2012. I hope to continue that by helping at one or both of the Springfield, IL races this year.

More at 11...

I would love to see Triumph attain it's former glory on the flat track. I hope it is televised.

Yep, that IS a funny line alright Ian, however unfortunately in real life, and as far as I know, the Triumph flat trackers are still not quite up to the same power output that the venerable Harley XR750's are producing.

I see that rounds 3 and 16 are TBA in Arizona. Is Presott Downs open again for flat track?
